Father Iakovos’ Report:
Father reported that the Clergy-Laity conference will be held in Washington DC July 14 through 18. He is planning on attending and will be staying with his God son. Father will also be traveling to Troy, MI for a one day conference of the Orthodox Mission Center as a participant. He is looking into the St. John Chrysostom Oratorical contest and feels that we have several young people in our parish that may be interested in participating. In August, we will host the new president of Philoptocos and she will direct our parish into becoming an active charter. Father is pleased with the level of participation of parishioners during Great Lent. However, some of the time only the Catechumens are in attendance. He encouraged the council members to support the Lenten services. He discussed all the events of the upcoming Holy Week.
